Payday 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter video game developed by Overkill Software and published by 505 Games. The game is a sequel to 2011's Payday: The Heist. Information technology was released in August 2013 for Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. An improved version of the game, subtitled Crimewave Edition, was released for PlayStation four and Xbox One in June 2015.^[4] A version for the Nintendo Switch was released in Feb 2018.^[five]

Soon afterward, the same squad robs a bank on Mexico equally a favor to Vlad and afterwards, frees his brother-in-law from the Mexican Authorities. On 31 Jan 2017, Payday 2 released a crossover with Shadow Warrior ii, which included a Steam auction on both games, auction on some DLC for Payday 2, and new masks, and melee weapons.^[32] On December 14, 2017, Payday 2 released a heist based on the Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs was added to Payday 2, in which the role player is contracted to rob a jewelry shop in Los Angeles with the Cabot family. Microtransactions and Completely Overkill Controversy [edit]

On 15 Oct 2015 as part of Overkill'south second annual Crimefest celebration, Overkill announced the add-on of safes to the card drop system that contained weapon skins, some of which modified weapon statistics. The safes needed to be opened with drills which were only available for purchase with real world currency, leading a fan backlash to their inclusion.^[49] On 20 October 2015 the aforementioned drills were added to the carte du jour driblet organisation, however this did non quell the backlash and Overkill was criticized for poor management of the controversy and silence to the press.^{[l] [51]}
