In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The Florida Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.
NetCE is an approved provider of continuing education through CE Broker, Provider #50-2405. NetCE will electronically report successful course completions to CE Broker.

RNs, LPNs, APRNs (CNP, CNM, CNS, CRNA, PNP), and Autonomous APRNs are required 16 general hours plus state mandates.
Mandates include:
- Medical Error Prevention - 2 contact hours every renewal.
- Nursing Laws and Rules - 2 contact hours every renewal.
- Human Trafficking - 2 contact hours every renewal.
- Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace - 2 contact hours every other renewal.
- Domestic Violence - 2 contact hours every 3rd renewal.
- HIV/AIDS - One-time requirement of 1 contact hour during first renewal.
- APRNs who are registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and authorized to prescribe controlled substances - 3 contact hours in Safe and Effective Prescription of Controlled Substances every renewal.
- Autonomous APRNs - 10 contact hours in Nurse Practitioner level courses offered by a professional or national nursing specialty board.
Autonomous APRNs Per HB 607, effective July 1, 2020, APRNs will be able to register for autonomous practice, which will remove the requirement to provide patient care within the framework of an established protocol with a supervising physician or dentist. Registration requirements include completion of 45 hours of CE in pharmacology and 45 hours of CE in differential diagnosis, with the past 5 years.
According to Rule 64B9-4.020(4), FAC, pharmacology course content must address the therapeutic uses and biological effects of drugs and the differential diagnosis content must address health assessment, differential diagnosis, critical thinking or diagnostic reasoning.
Licensed Midwives are required 20 hours every two years.*
Requirements include:
- 16 general hours with clinical relevance to the practice of midwifery.
- 2 hours on the Prevention of Medical Errors, which must include a study of root-cause analysis, error reduction and prevention, and patient safety.
- 1 hour on Laws and Rules, which must cover the Medical Practice Act (456, F.S.), the Midwifery Practice Act (467, F.S.), and Rule Title 64B24 (Florida Administrative Code).
- 1 hour on HIV/AIDS, which must include information on the current Florida laws on AIDS and its impact on testing, the confidentiality of test results, the treatment of patients, and any protocols and procedures applicable to HIV counseling and testing, reporting, the offering of HIV testing to pregnant women, and partner notification issues pursuant to 381.004, F.S., and 384.25, F.S.
- 2 hours on Domestic Violence every 6 years, and in addition to the 20 hours required for license renewal. Domestic Violence education must cover information found in 456.031, F.S. as it pertains to the practice of midwifery. Home study courses are accepted.**
*The licensure of midwives is regulated by the Florida Council of Licensed Midwifery.
**NetCE courses are considered home study.
